Yes, scheduled delivery in advance is allow, simply select the desired delivery date upon checkout.

WHERE SHOULD I STORE THE MEAT ONCE I RECEIVE IT AND HOW LONG CAN I KEEP IT BEFORE CONSUMING?

-Frozen items can be store in the freezer until ¨Best Before¨ date shown in the label.

 

-Chilled items can be store in the fridge ideally 45 days after the ¨Production Date¨ shown in the label. However, if you receive a chilled item and you’re not planning to consume it soon, you can freeze it, leaving it in its packaging, or portion it and wrap individual steaks with plastic film or in Ziploc bags.

 

HOW SHOULD I DEFROST THE MEAT?

Defrosting meat properly is crucial for food safety. When meat is frozen, the water in it forms ice crystals that can damage the cell structure of the meat, causing it to lose flavor and become dry. Additionally, if meat is not defrosted properly, may lead to foodborne illness.

 

There are three safe ways to thaw food: in the refrigerator, in cold water and in the microwave.

 

-REFRIGERATOR THAWING: For best results, defrost the meat slowly in your refrigerator overnight in the original vacuum pack. Planning ahead is the key to this method because of the lengthy time involved. The defrosting time will depend on the size and thickness of the meat, but it can take from one to three days. Once thawed, minced meat, poultry, and seafood can keep well in the refrigerator for an extra day or two, while red meat (beef, pork and lamb) stays good for three to five more days.

 

-COLD WATER THAWING: Another method for defrosting meat is in cold water. This method is faster than refrigerator thawing but requires more attention. Place your frozen cut of meat in a sealed bag (squeezing out as much air as possible) and submerge it in a bowl with cold tap water. Change the water every 30 minutes to ensure that it stays cold and continues to thaw the meat. Defrosting time will depend on the size and thickness of the meat. Smaller cuts can thaw in an hour or less, larger pieces may take two to four hours.Foods thawed by the cold-water method should be cooked before refreezing.

 

-MICROWAVE THAWING: The microwave can also be used to defrost meat, but it is not recommended because some areas of the food may become warm and begin to cook during the thawing process (bringing the food to "Danger Zone" temperatures, between 40°F and 140 °F, where bacteria multiply rapidly). Holding partially cooked food is not recommended because any bacteria present wouldn't have been destroyed and, indeed, the food may have reached optimal temperatures for bacteria to grow. If you choose to defrost meat in the microwave, it should be cooked immediately after defrosting. Be sure to use the defrost setting on the microwave and check the meat frequently to ensure that it does not begin to cook. Foods thawed in the microwave should be cooked before refreezing.

 

IS IT SAFE TO THAW MEAT ON THE COUNTER?

Meat should not be left at room temperature for more than two hours, as bacteria may start to multiply, which can cause food poisoning.

Even though the center of the package may still be frozen as it thaws on the counter, the outer layer of the food could be in the "Danger Zone," between 40°F and 140 °F — temperatures where bacteria multiply rapidly.

 

-EXTRA TIPS:

Pat dry: Before cooking, pat the meat dry with paper kitchen towels. This will help to remove any excess moisture and ensure that the meat cooks evenly.

 

- Bring Meat to Room Temperature before cooking: bringing meat to room temperature will ensure that you have a juicy flavorful cut, evenly cooked. Instead of cooking meat cold from the fridge, try allowing it to rest at room temperature for about an hour. Doing this, will ensure the best taste, texture, and aroma.
